What is a therapeutic journey?
1. Recognising the Call
A stirring within—a restlessness, a wound, or a longing for deeper understanding—signals the beginning. Whether you seek healing, clarity, or transformation, acknowledging this need is the first courageous step.
2. Finding the Right Counsellor
Choosing a guide for this journey is essential. Do they resonate with your needs—trauma, identity, grief, or life purpose? Do you seek talk therapy, somatic work, or a holistic approach? Cultural fit matters, too—do they understand your lived experience in a way that feels safe and affirming?
3. First Contact & Consultation
A discovery call, like the one I offer, allows us to explore whether we are a good fit. This is your chance to ask about my approach, express what you seek, and get a feel for whether the space we create together feels right.
4. The First Session: Laying the Foundation
In our first meeting, you share what brings you here. We might explore your history, experiences, and goals, shaping how we will work together. A good counsellor helps you feel seen and understood, allowing the relationship to unfold naturally.
5. The Heart of the Work
Therapy is both a sanctuary and a crucible. It may be:
Reflective: Unpacking emotions, experiences, and patterns.
Transformative: Gaining insights, healing wounds, and expanding self-awareness.

6. Integration & Closure
One day, you may feel ready to pause or conclude therapy. Perhaps you’ve gained the clarity you needed, or life shifts in a way that calls for a new path. Ending therapy can be a transition, a moment to celebrate your journey and how you integrate its gifts into your daily life.
At its core, therapy is an act of self-honouring—a commitment to your inner world, your health, and your self.
